All Staff
It is a very difficult time that we find ourselves in at the moment. I am sending you this text message as Today’s Amerton Farm Update.
As a small family run business we want our business to continue to thrive once this dreadful virus has been defeated. The only thing I can liken this to is Foot and Mouth, but this affects everyone, not just rural areas.
The Directors need to make some tough commercial decisions in the coming days. If any staff members have vulnerable family or personal health issues we are urging you to put yourself first. The nature of our business is exposing you to germs and dealing with many different people during any day. This morning we have had a member of staff who has had to self isolate, they are not showing any symptoms but family members are showing symptoms of Covid 19. Unfortunately, our business does not lend itself, to working from home.
As a business we have never had an overdraft at the bank; however we have contacted the bank to try and arrange such a facility as a buffer, as no one can forecast what is going to happen in the future.
We would also ask you to bear with us, rotas may have to change. We ask for your co-operation in this situation. It is nothing personal, we are looking at the work available and sharing shifts as fairly as possible. We urge you to see the bigger picture; we rely on customers to pay your wages. We have had several schools and parties cancel visits. We do understand and appreciate everyone has bills to pay, our staff are our first priority, but we do have to be sensible with our staff to customer ratio.
