Amerton Farm will be hosting their very own Mini County Show on Tuesday 1st June 2010, when visitors can bring their small pets for judging at 11.00 am. The winner will receive a family ticket to the County Show to be used on either Wednesday or Thursday.
Ferret racing will be the afternoon’s entertainment at 2.00 pm.
For children there will also be an opportunity to ride the train, visit the Playbarn, farmyard, Paint a Pot and British Wildlife Rescue Centre.
Food from the barbecue is available from the court yard and ice cream from the Farm Shop, making it a true summer atmosphere ‘down on the farm’.
Windmill Playbarn
The Windmill Playbarn has now got a new and improved adult and children's menu. When deciding on the menu and ingredients time and consideration were given to local products, healthy options and good quality.
The menu has gone down well with our customers and we have accompanied the food with the addition to our selection of drinks with Fruitini Smoothies and Fruitini Juice Slushies. Both drinks give you one of the 'five a day' fruit options. They are sugar, additive and preservative free and must be tasted to be appreciated.
The Craft Centre
The Craft Centre has had a renovation and is looking even better than before. The excellent selection of good quality gifts is still available for those friends and family that mean so much.
EVENTS
Easter Egg Treasure Hunt
The Easter Egg Treasure Hunt is being held on Easter Sunday 4th April 2010 starting at 11.00am in the main courtyard. This is run by the British Wildlife Rescue Centre and is a great time for the whole family. Children under 15yrs can enter the Treasure Hunt and receive an Easter Egg once completed. The completed entries are put into a prize draw, which will be picked at 2.00pm.
Easter Bonnet Parade
The Parade will be held on Tuesday 6th April 2010 at 2.00pm in the main courtyard. This is so much fun for the children to show off their homemade bonnets, parading them around the courtyard. The Easter Bonnet Parade used to be an annual event but had not taken place for a few years, it was decided this year to bring back this tradition as so much fun is had by all concerned.
Pony Rides
There used to be pony rides at Amerton Farm and since they were stopped we are regularly asked when they are coming back. It has therefore been decided that the time has come for children to have the opportunity to enjoy a pony ride. The rides will be available from Easter Sunday and throughout the Easter school holidays.
Sheep & Lambs
Yes it is that time of the year again, the lambs are back in the farmyard!! A local farmer is bringing them into the farmyard on Friday 1st April and they will be visiting until 15th April 2010.
As you can see from the above a lot is happening at Amerton Farm. We do like to think that we offer variety of attractions for our visitors to see and enjoy. Then a lovely homemade meal in the Tea Room can be had to top off a lovely relaxing day for all.
